Pouce Coupe is approximately 10 km (6 miles) southeast of Dawson Creek along Highway 2.  Highway 2 travels southeast to the Alberta border where it changes to Highway 43 and carries on to Grande Prairie, AB.

Rail

Canadian National Railways and BC Rail lines meet in Dawson Creek. The CN line once linked Dawson Creek to the rest of the Peace Region and to Edmonton, however this section of rail has not been active for a number of years. The BC Rail line runs north to Fort Nelson and south to Vancouver. The lines provide access to ocean shipping through the ports of Vancouver and Prince Rupert.

Step Up 'N Ride Society

The Step Up ‘N’ Ride Society has been serving Dawson Creek and area for about the past 20 years.

The Society provides transportation aboard specially equipped buses for people with mobility issues such as seniors and students with special needs.  Step Up ‘N’ Ride runs three 20-passenger buses (minus two seats for each passenger with a wheelchair) and two vans. Travellers pay $4 per stop in Dawson Creek and $5 per stop in Pouce Coupe.  While the service is provided to anyone who is physically unable to utilize city transportation, between 200 and 300 seniors comprise the largest segment of the society’s clientele.  The service runs Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
